ENCOUNTERING & ENGAGING

What is your role within the Global MBA programme?

I am responsible for MBA admissions on the Bordeaux campus and develop corporate relations with national and international companies. More specificially, i advise candidates and companies on the MBA program, answering questions about… content, format, ROI, financing, organization and planning.

What kind of personal investment does this require?

Lots of energy and enthusiasm, but it’s a lot of fun! EMBA candidates are usually very demanding and very specific about what they want or what they are looking for… meaning I always have to be very responsive and accurate with the information I provide our participants.. and they want the answers very quickly!

What is the importance/significance of staff involvement with EMBA participants?

The EMBA support team tries hard to meet very high expectations and standards.

"High potential professionals..."

What do you get out of working with EMBA participants?

Colourful meetings! Every day, I feel really lucky to meet or speak with high potential professionals from different backgrounds: different educational backgrounds, different functions/roles, representing different types of organization (from a start up to a large international group and lots of SMEs).

One day I meet with a Finance Director of the subsidiary of a French CAC 40 group… Next day, I meet with the founder of a start-up who has plan to develop internationally… Recently, I even met with an anesthesiologist with lots of innovative ideas … We had a very interesting discussion for more than 2 hours… Much more than I usually do spend with such a physician!

What are your key challenges with respect to participants?

Dealing with last minute changes to adapt to our participants ‘professional and personal commitments!  It does require some flexibility and agility to try to sort out some situations. Since we meet and discuss with professional from different backgrounds and with very diversified professional experience, it does also require to understand their own environment and technical/specific codes.

"...changing step by step."

Of which achievement involving a participant/participants within the EMBA are you most proud?

No particular achievement… However it’s amazing to see the participants developing and changing. I joined the EMBA team 2 years ago. During that time, I’ve seen quite a lot of new participants entering the program and changing step by step. They become more confident, communicate much better and are beaming!

How do you see the EMBA evolving in the coming years for participants?

In the last 2 years, I’ve seen the program attracting internationally-minded and experienced professionals with a strong entrepreneurial mind/spirit. I am confident this trend will continue. The MBA team (professors and support staff) are working hard to adapt to an ever changing environment and to adapt to the transformation of our business world.
