SUPPLY CHAIN : From Risk to Resilience

In the past few years, the turmoil in the global market caused by extreme weather, the pandemic, economic and political conflicts have been pushing the global supply chains to the limit. After being forced to take quick actions as response to constant disruptions, enterprises have undoubtedly reached a consensus on enhancing risk management and increasing supply chains resilience investments to ensure the long-term stability and sustainability of their supply chains. Currently, how to improve the effectiveness of the measures taken and the resources invested in the risk management and supply chain resilience has become a trendy topic in this significant problematique, both for academic research and the business world.

ABOUT THE MASTERCLASS

Professor Walid KLIBI, Member of KEDGE Supply Chain Center of Excellence (CESIT), Professor of Supply Chain Management at KEDGE Business School, will share his insights on the topic. Meanwhile, he has invited two industry experts, Ms. Zera ZHENG, Global Head of Business Resilience Lead Logistics at A.P. Moller - Maersk, and Mr. Jeff GAO, Senior Manager of Global Procurement at Lenovo Group (SJTU-KEDGE Global MBA 2009 Intake) to join him for a panel discussion.  

By combining research outcomes with real-world business cases, the Webinar will try to give KEDGErs and other friends interested in the topic an access to the latest practices, with detailed analysis and insights on the key issues.

ABOUT THE TALK

The talk will discuss how to shift companies’ focus from risk to resilience. It discusses the need to assess and align resilience investments and actions with the vulnerabilities faced by the supply chain. It makes a connection between risk assessments, operational outcomes, and investments in supply chain resilience. Managerial insights will be shared on such decision-making challenges and the managerial acceptability of the design solutions when they are applied in practice.
