India in a few words...

If I had to describe India in a few words or notions, I would definitely say

hospitality, colors, human warmth and crowds (because yes you are not alone!), organized chaos (traffic), harmony between the living creatures, multicultural mindset and spirituality.

All week long key actors in education and business arena have shared their knowledge and expertise on the Indian market including stakes, constraints and potential of growth.

Marie-Ange Gillet Rossy, Global MBA Paris coordinator
Accompagnator of the New Delhi International Business Seminar

Among the topics covered during this seminar

  • The rural market wherein lies the main potential against urbanization and a saturated market and Business strategies and implementation for multinational companies in those areas.
  • The balance between State and central power and influences
  • The importance of trust and network in relationship implying also business relations
  • The government will and responsibility to provide solutions and help the most disadvantage people.
  • The opportunity to change your path thanks to education

Unity in diversity in a democracy, how to find (compromise?) but move forward?

A fast growing market

India - a fast growing market. A very particular example of emerging country where internal market is so important that it is sufficient to bring a sustainable growth

We also had great opportunities to visit companies located in Noida area - Sopra Steria and Honda factory. Two major players in the local economy illustrating the current economic trends in India with IT fast growing market and industry.

I keep in mind a conclusion drawn by a participant from the French group during their final group presentation that sums-up the lesson learned: “if you want to do business in India, look for a problem not a solution”

The Chinese students participation was very valuable as they could bring knowledge and compare two emergent giants - China and India - with two distinct development models.

In short a good balance between knowledge, experience and concrete business insight with market perspective, history and culture, daily taste buds trip, sport (we played Cricket!) and of course a touch of fun.
