The Recognition of Prior Learning (VAE) enables anyone to obtain a professional certification or blocks of competencies by having the skills acquired through professional or non-professional experience officially recognized. It is a formal pathway to KEDGE Business School diplomas, on par with initial or continuing education.
Since the introduction of the public service France VAE, most VAE procedures are now centralized on the national portal, in accordance with Law No. 2022-1598 and Decree No. 2023-1275. KEDGE fully aligns with this regulatory framework. This centralization allows VAE candidates to use their CPF (Personal Training Account), and potentially benefit from additional funding from their employer or complementary financing (France Travail, Region, etc.).

Follow the process in 4 steps:
- Choose your certification and your Pathway Support Advisor (AAP), if you wish to receive support
- Submit your feasibility application, reviewed by KEDGE
- Prepare and submit your validation dossier (formerly “Livret II”)
- Attend the Validation Jury, organized by KEDGE
Good to know:
- If you cannot find the KEDGE diploma or certification you are looking for on France VAE, please contact us
- Eligibility is based on the review of the feasibility application and the alignment between the candidate’s experience and the competency framework requirements. A decision is issued within a maximum of two months.
- Support is optional and provided by an AAP registered on France VAE. KEDGE is accredited as an AAP for level 7 diplomas and certifications related to its fields of expertise and skills.
- Application limits: only one application per year for the same diploma, and a maximum of three per year if applying for different diplomas. This rule does not apply to block-based VAE.
- KEDGE also offers collective VAE for companies that wish to implement it.
